Sleigh Centerpiece

Sleigh Centerpiece

This fun sleigh centerpiece is a dazzler when it is finished but it is both easy to make and lots of fun!

What you will need:

•Scissors
•Ruler
•Glue gun
•Wood sleigh approximately 14" x 2 ½" (these are available at local craft stores)
•23 foil wrapped packages approximately 1" x 1"
•1 pine cones about 6" long
•Green elastic cord 26" long
•Red and white metallic wired craft ribbon
•3" foam shape snowman
•1 3/8" foam shape snowman
•Christmas confetti
•Sequins in the following patterns: star, silver, gold and red heart (medium sized)

Instructions for the project-Squeeze a generous drop of hot glue 1 ½" from the end of the sleigh. Press and hold the base of the pine cone into the hot glue until it hardens enough for it to stand up on its own. Measure and cut a 6" piece of the metallic wired craft ribbon. Squeeze hot glue on one end of the piece of ribbon and press it to the base of the pine cone where you can see the glue used to attach it to the sleigh. Wrap it around the base of the pine cone until you have covered the entire base of the pine cone and the glue is no longer visible. Hot glue the end in place. Now you can add the foil wrapped boxes to the sleigh, about ½" away from the pine cone. Arrange the boxes in two rows, alternating colors. When you are satisfied with the arrangement, lift up the boxes one at a time, squeeze a drop of hot glue on the bottom and press it back into place on the sleigh. Continue stacking the boxes until you have glued them all into place. Hot glue the star sequin to the top of the pine cone. Measure and cut a 26" piece of the green elastic cord. Squeeze a drop of hot glue on one end and press it (carefully so you don't burn your fingers) into the "branches" of the pine cone "tree". Begin to wrap it around the pine cone at 1" intervals until you reach the base of the pine cone. Squeeze hot glue on the end of the piece of cord and press it into the pine cone. Hot glue the Christmas metallic confetti all around the pine cone "tree". You only need to use a small drop of hot glue and hold each piece of confetti in place briefly until secure. Squeeze a thin line of hot glue along the base of the 3" foam snowman and on the end of the hand and arrange it so the bottom is touching the sleigh and the hand is touching the presents. Hold it in place briefly until secure. Squeeze a line of hot glue on the back of the 1 3/8" foam snowman to the left of the buttons and press it against the 3" snowman. And you now have a winter wonderland scene to adorn your table or mantle.
